Ethiopian life

  • Adisu’s career continues a rich tradition of Ethiopian singing and dancing, both secular and religious
  • Singing accompanies many agricultural activities as well as religious festivals and ceremonies marking life events like birth, marriage and death
  • The traditional Ethiopian food staple is injera, a type of bread. It’s made from a grain unique to Ethiopia called tef, which contains 2-3 times the iron of wheat or barley and many times the calcium, potassium and other essential minerals
